As soon as the unpleasant speech by retired General Rodrigo Soloaga reached the ears of the Minister of Defense, Jorge Taiana’s pulse did not tremble to order his dismissal for apology of State terrorism. In 2004, Soloaga had resigned after learning of Néstor Kirchner’s decision to drop the cadres, but he returned to the Army with Mauricio Macri.

The most interesting thing about the subject is that the speech went viral thanks to some who supported his unpleasant speech but luckily and thanks to human rights organizations and the defense minister this subject no longer belongs to the force.

Soloaga is a veteran of Falklands and in 1989 he participated in the repression of the takeover of the the table. He also chaired the Cavalry Weapon Commission. Although he retired in 2004 in repudiation of the Kirchner government’s Memory, Truth and Justice policy, returned to force during the management of Mauricio Macri. He was able to do so because article 62 of the Law for Military Personnel (19.101) allows it. However, these appointments must be reconfirmed, something that did not happen during the administration of the Front of All.
