José recounted the assault he suffered with his wife / Gonzalo Calvelo

Not even for the New Year’s toast. A retired couple suffered a brutal entry into their home in Ringuelet a few hours before the start of 2023, in which they were tied up and tortured by criminals who took the trouble to take even the wine and cider that was meant to toast.

The dramatic episode of insecurity took place on December 30 in the area of Calle 4 bis, between 516 and 517.

There, two thieves were present who, after entering the back of the house, surprised the elderly couple who had just woken up.

José, 89 years old and one of the victims of that fateful night, received EL DIA at his home and recounted -still in shock- the unfortunate robbery he suffered with his wife Dora (86).

“I went to open the door that communicates with the back of the house to get my dog out. At that moment, two criminals pounced, one of whom covered my mouth with one hand and ordered me to “get inside,” the victim said.

And he added to his story: “The same thief locked me in the bathroom and tied my hands with shoelaces. Immediately he stole the wedding ring that I had from the 67 years that we have been married to my wife ”.

Of course, it was not the only thing that both intruders stole from that home. As detailed by José, the criminals took a sum close to 50,000 pesos, a plasma television, watches, a gold medal and a gold-plated lighter.

Outraged by what he had experienced, the retiree revealed: “They even took bottles of cider, wine and soft drinks, which we were going to take to our son’s house on the night of December 31.”

The impunity of the criminals was such that, after handcuffing the man in the bathroom, who was with his wife, they searched the entire house and remained inside for almost two hours. “They even checked my son’s books,” José explained.

The most tense moment was when the thugs tortured them under the threat of cutting out their tongues. “They warned us that if we spoke, they would cut us off,” said the victim.

To top it off, as in an act of “solidarity” with the victims, the thieves asked them if they needed any remedy. “Luckily they calmed down, they even offered us water,” he said.

Both criminals are wanted at this time by agents of the sixth police station who became aware of the event.

a new scare

After the violent entrance suffered, José revealed that yesterday morning they tried to re-enter his home.

“We heard noises and we got up. Luckily they left, but we are alert, ”she concluded.
