The incident occurred at dawn this Sunday, at the corner of La Paz and Patagonia avenues. A group of inspectors assigned to the control service at the Chamamé Festival were leaving the vicinity of the Mario del Tránsito Cocomarola amphitheater, when they were collided.

A Peugeot Boxer truck, belonging to the Road Safety area of ​​the Municipality of the city of Corrientes, was being loaded with refractory cones and other instruments, at which time the driver got out of the vehicle to assist in the proceedings.

However, the truck’s handbrake did not activate and it pounced on traffic inspector Ramón Araujo (54), who was run over by the vehicle.

In view of this situation, Araujo was transferred by ambulance to the “General San Martín” School Hospital in the city of Corrientes, where he died after suffering two cardiac episodes, sources linked to the Municipality of the provincial capital told Télam.
