Food trucks roll to Essen’s Zeche Zollverein at the weekend. The Food Lovers want to offer quality, regionality and sustainability.

For eight years, the Food Lovers have been bringing hungry people together at the Street Food Market to feast together. On the weekend, April 21 to 23, interested parties are invited to the Zeche Zollverein site on Gelsenkirchener Straße. “A total of 31 stands will prepare a wide variety of international delicacies in front of the guests in food trucks and tents,” says organizer Max Sollmann.

Admission to Street Food Market at Zollverein free of charge

From burgers, flamed salmon, empanadas and Indonesian satay skewers to vegetarian and vegan specialties and sweet snacks from all over the world, there should be something for every taste. “We value the high quality of the food creations, as well as the regionality and sustainability of the products,” says Sollmann, who saw the concept in San Francisco in 2014 and implemented it in Germany.

At the same time, a DJ should provide the appropriate weekend sound and round off the historical ambience. To make young guests happy too, face painting is also offered on Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free and the prices for the culinary offerings range from 6 to 12 euros per dish.

Opening hours: Friday (April 21): 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday (April 22): 12 p.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday (April 23): 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. The next date is from October 13th to 15th. More info on www.foodlovers-streetfood.de
