This year there are many brands dedicated to the automotive industry, which have among their plans to launch electric cars. One of these brands that is not mainly involved with the sector, but works on an electric car with such characteristics is Xiaomi, and recently the first images of what the car will be like were leaked.
In recent years, and due to the growing environmental awareness of consumers, there has been a strong boom in the use of electric vehicles, where Europe and the United States are the most stable markets that lead this type of technological development, therefore, the greatest use of this transport model is recorded.
According to data from a study conducted by EV-Volumes.com, in 2021 sales of this type of alternative vehicle were close to 6.8 million units worldwide, where consumer spending in electric vehicles amounted to approximately 250 billion US dollars. For its part, government investment in this type of alternative automobile during that same year was around 30 billion, according to data from a study identified as Global EV Outlook 2022, conducted by the IEA.
Although manufacturers in this industry have names like Chevrolet, Hyundai, Volkswagen, Renault, Peugeot, Kia, BMW, among others, the unrivaled leader is Tesla. The Tesla Model 3 was the best-selling electric vehicle in the world in 2021, with sales of more than 500,000 units, indicates the ranking carried out by Inside EVs.
This is what Xiaomi’s electric car looks like
In 2021, the technology firm Xiaomi announced that it would develop an electric car, leaving everyone surprised.
This Wednesday it was announced that the new car of the Chinese brand, which would have already been driven by the CEO of the company, Lei Jun, will carry several sensors to try to have autonomous functions for the benefit of the user.
In this sense, to publicize the vehicle, images of the MS11 were leaked, which is a coupe-type portback design, with characteristics similar to some sports cars.
In the photograph they reveal that the car would include headlights and a grille shape at the front and an Aston Martin DBS-like silhouette at the rear.
According to the firm is known for creating smartphones, the MS11 will be equipped with roof-mounted LiDAR sensors and handles to become an autonomous vehicle. Furthermore, it is expected to have batteries supplied by CATL and BYD and in-house motors from Xiaomi.
In the month of July of last year, the CEO of Xiaomi was seen driving one of the cars on the streets of China, which has generated great expectations about the arrival of the MS11 on the market.
So far, no more details have been released about this first Xiaomi electric car, but its features and specifications promise to be revolutionary and compete with Tesla cars, which are the leaders in that market.
