This Marvel film is a hit but is not available in France

Its theatrical release is now complete, the worldwide success Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has been available for streaming since February 1, 2023 on Disney+, in the United States, Canada, but also in many countries around the world. A remarkable entry, since the Marvel Studios film directed by Ryan Coogler has just made an excellent start on the platform. “Thank you fans everywhere for making Marvel Studios’ Black Panther Wakanda Forever the #1 worldwide Marvel movie launch on #DisneyPlus to date!“, communicated the company on Monday, February 6, 2023. Separately, Samba TV, a company which offers audience analysis, said that the film was viewed in 2.1 million households after its release, reports Deadline. As FlixPatrol reports, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is number 1 on Disney+ in almost all the countries where it is available, from Argentina to Belgium, including Japan and Australia.

Sequel to the first film released in 2018, the screenplay of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever had to be recast after the death of lead actor Chadwick Boseman, interpreter of the Wakandan monarch T’Challa, from colon cancer in August 2020. At the time, Marvel Studios made the decision not to recast the role. Proof of its phenomenal impact, Black Panther 2 garnered five 2023 Oscar nominations, and focuses primarily on T’Challa’s entourage and his legacy. This time, the adventure continues with the sister of the King of Wakanda, Shuri (Letitia Wright), who takes on the Black Panther costume. According to the Guyanese-British actress, the first sketches of Black Panther 3 have already started in Marvel Studios, she announced at the microphone of variety (see excerpt below).

Black Panther 2 : when will it be released in France?

Unlike the United States, the film is not yet available in France on Disney+. The American company must comply with the requirements of the media chronology, which requires that a film released in theaters must wait 17 months before being available for streaming on Disney+. Therefore, it will be necessary to wait until at least April 2024 to find Queen Ramonda, Shuri, M’Baku, Okoye and the Dora Milaje in their fight to protect their national from the interference of world powers. Another interesting fact, Black Panther 2 also managed to secure a release in China after the country lifted its Marvel movie ban in theaters.
