When it comes to usage numbers WhatsApp in Austria far ahead of the other messenger apps. But what the range of functions concerns is the competition superior to the messenger from the Zuckerberg empire.
WhatsApp wants to reduce this lead and plans to introduce it neuer Features. The service uses a popular Telegram function that could possibly turn WhatsApp upside down.
Cross-posting of status messages
Like Instagram and Facebook, WhatsApp is known to belong to parent company Meta. It is therefore also obvious to interlink the individual services, at least in part. At the Post status messages this should now also be possible with WhatsApp.

Anyone who posts a so-called story on WhatsApp should status message at the same time also on about his Facebook- and Instagram-Account can share. Like WABetaInfo reportedthis feature should be disabled by default.
If you activate this feature, the WhatsApp status messages will also be displayed in the future directly and automatically posted on Instagram and/or Facebook. The cross-posting feature is currently only available in a beta version, but it should be available to all WhatsApp users in the coming months.
Channels turn WhatsApp into Telegram
The popular Telegram playground to spread conspiracy myths is now getting new competition from Zuckerberg. We’re talking about WhatsApp Channelsdie according to WABetaInfo are about to be introduced.
Similar to Telegram, these channels are supposed to be from WhatsApp users subscribed can become. Brands, companies, media, influencers, etc. can use it to feed their followers with information – in the form of a One-to-many communication.

It remains to be seen how Meta dies WhatsApp-Channels will implement. But just the possibility of one-to-many communication could new dynamic into the messenger app and open up completely new goals.
In any case, the channels should not end-to-end encrypted as reported by WABetaInfo. However, other users should not be able to see which channels you have subscribed to visible be.
