Climate activists of the “last generation” are blocking traffic all over Berlin. Apparently, they also hinder numerous rescue operations.
Due to the blockades of the “last generation” several ambulances were obstructed on Monday morning in Berlin. That said a spokesman for the Berlin fire brigade t-online. The exact number of blocked missions is currently being determined. The “Tagesspiegel” reports on 15 disabled ambulances.
According to the fire brigade spokesman, emergency trips had to be canceled in several cases and new ambulances called because there was no getting through in the traffic jam. He currently does not know whether there were patients in disabled vehicles.

A civil protection officer shared a video on Twitter that was taken from an emergency vehicle in a traffic jam. It shows that there is no continuous rescue lane and the vehicle is making slow progress. Police officers run through the traffic jam and try to clear the way.
Further back in the traffic jam there is a “desperate RTW”, writes the civil protection officer. The police try everything. “This provoked chaos will kill!”
On Monday, the climate activists of the “last generation” expanded their protests in Berlin as announced. In the morning, the police reported blockades at more than 30 locations in the city. There are massive traffic disruptions. The police are on duty with more than 500 forces. According to the traffic information center, the travel time on the A100 between Charlottenburg and Kreuz Schöneberg has increased by more than two hours at times.
