An inmate of the Nanterre remand center, in the Hauts-de-Seine, says he was attacked on December 31 by guards.
The Nanterre public prosecutor’s office opened an investigation on Wednesday for “aggravated violence” after reports of the assault of a detainee by two guards at the Nanterre prison, in the Hauts-de-Seine, learned BFMTV .com from source close to the file.
In this case, two versions oppose each other. The facts date back to the evening of December 31. According to the story of Mickaël, the detainee, the guards used the pretext of a fire starting in his cell to extract him and bring him to the showers in order to assault him. However, the two supervisors do not explain the traces of beatings spotted the next day by the detainee’s first lawyer. This man, who has several advisers, was then visited by a second lawyer who made a report to the management of the establishment.
This report which led to the opening of an internal administrative investigation and the judicial inquiry by the Nanterre prosecutor’s office. Hearings will be conducted, as well as medical findings and the analysis of images from the prison’s CCTV cameras.
Within the remand center there is a certain embarrassment in the face of this story.
