The consultant Ali Benchikh has sworn not to speak of Djamel Belmadi on the set of El-Heddaf. Whether in case of exploit or failure, the former MCA player will be tight-lipped about the national coach.

Djamel Belmadi will indeed continue the adventure with the Greens. Indeed, he signed a new contract until 2026. Regarding the objectives that the FAF has assigned to him, it is to reach at least the semi-final of CAN-2023 in Côte d’Ivoire and qualify for the World Cup-2026.

But the fact remains that the extension of the national coach’s contract has divided the Algerians between supporters and opponents. There are those who are in favor of maintaining Belmadi at the head of the Greens in order to maintain a certain stability in view of the next deadlines, while others are unanimous in saying that he had to give up the apron in the face of the regression of the national selection.

Does Benchikh oppose keeping Belmadi?

Apparently, the extension of Djamel Belmadi’s contract was not to Ali Benchikh’s taste. The least we can say is that he made a controversial statement about it.

Indeed, the consultant of El-Heddaf has sworn not to speak of the national coach any more. “I have already given my opinion about Belmadi at the appropriate time. So, today, I swear in front of all Algerians not to talk about him anymore. If the FAF wants to extend it until 2036, that’s their problem”. He said on the sports program “Bel Makchouf” last Thursday.

The former Mouloudia player did not stop there. He adds: “Whether in the event of elimination from the first round of CAN-2023 or qualification for the 2026 World Cup, I will not talk about Belmadi. And don’t ask me (Speaking to the host) because I’ll keep my mouth shut. I am not a kid, but rather a man of principle. I will just analyze the game of the national team and that’s it. I hope all Algerians can hear me”.
