Rosario reached the worrying figure of 96 murders so far this year after a young man just 18 years old was shot to death in the Ludueña neighborhood.
The attackers were two people who shot him from a motorcycle and fled, presumably as part of a settling of scores. The victim of this new murder in Rosario was identified as Juan Leiva, an 18-year-old boy who died minutes after the attack at a municipal health center. The crime occurred around 12:30 this Friday at 100 Barra Street, near the intersection with Tupac Amaru in the aforementioned northwestern Rosario neighborhood.
“My brother came from looking for food from the dining room and a single man came to shoot the house next door and he also shot my brother. He was a kid who didn’t mess with anyone, he didn’t have fights. They only killed him because he was next to a house that they had to shoot at,” one of the victim’s relatives told the press.
In a modality that is already commonplace in the city of Santa Fe, two people who were traveling with a motorcycle shot the young man at the door of his own house. It was his own relatives who had to take him to the health center located in the Northwest District Municipal Center, despite which the boy died as a result of the “serious injuries” suffered, according to the Public Prosecutor’s Office (MPA). ).
The prosecutor of the Homicide Unit to which the case was assigned, Ademar Bianchini, ordered the transfer of the victim’s body to the Legal Medical Institute for an autopsy, according to judicial sources consulted by the media.
In addition, the official told the scientific police to collect traces at the crime scene and take statements from potential witnesses to the episode. According to the first reports, the attackers would have fired at least six shots at the young man.
