More than 6,000 (six thousand) professional electricians from all over the country, authorized by the National Electricity Administration (ANDE) until 2018, and thousands of others trained later, will soon have to undergo professional certification of their labor and professional skills by the National Certification Body (ONC), dependent on the National Institute of Technology, Standardization and Metrology (INTN).

under the process of “Certification of Electrician Technicians and Professionals”, An agreement was signed between the National Certification Body (ONC), dependent on the National Institute of Technology, Standardization and Metrology (INTN), and the Kolping Paraguay Foundation (FUKOLPA).

The agreement is signed because FUKOLPA is the institution that fully complies with the adequate infrastructure, instruments and inputs to carry out the training required for certification, based on the requirements demanded by the INTN.

By this legislationprofessional electricians, certified by ANDE until 2018, must submit to the jurisdiction and competence of the INTN for the certification of their labor and professional skills, based on the National Quality System, with the intervention of accredited labor competency certification bodies.

Both to renew the professional electrician card, and to obtain it from the year 2018, The electrician technician must be certified by a person certification body accredited by the National Certification Body (ONC).

“The conformity assessment of both professionals and materials in the electrical area has been established in the Paraguayan standard,” commented Olaf Von Brandenstein, president of the Kolping Paraguay Foundation, in conversation with 650 AM.

He added that Paraguay did not have its own standards in accordance with the demands of the industries at the international level, for which reason he highlighted the importance of the agreement signed between the aforementioned institutions.
