Three inmates who were inside the 21st police station escaped at dawn on Tuesday. The agents realized it at 7:30 when they went to count the prisoners. Those currently wanted are Oscar Gómez, Jorge Cardozo, and Rodrigo Martínez.
The branch is located in Arijón between Santiago and Alvear. According to the first information, three inmates filed down the bars of the cell and escaped through the roof. At the moment there are fifteen prisoners housed in that police station in the south-west area.
The critical housing situation for inmates is not new. It was exposed last week by the outgoing Attorney General Jorge Baclini and the General Defender Jaquelina Balangione, who assured that More admissions are not accepted in prisons due to prison overcrowding and that within this framework there are many detainees who are housed in police stations.
