TikTok is working on a tool to identify AI-generated content

MADRID, (Portlatic/EP) – TikTok is preparing a new tool that will allow users to identify with tags the content available on the social network that has been created with generative Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The short video platform, owned by ByteDance, would be working on a new interface with which it seeks to help users recognize those videos that have been generated with this technology.

This has been anticipated by the social media consultant Matt Navarra, who has shared a screenshot of this screen, in which it is reported that it is possible to add labels or badges to content generated by AI.

First of all, the platform points out that content generated by AI “that shows realistic scenes” must be disclosed, in accordance with the regulations of its community and warns that it reserves the right to eliminate the content generated in this way if it has not been labeled correctly.

Another screenshot of the application shows a button, located in the Settings section and, more specifically, in the Disclosure of content and ads; which must be activated to follow the guidelines of the social network “and help prevent the removal of content.”

It should be remembered that last week reverse engineering expert Alessandro Paluzzi discovered that Meta had the same intention as TikTok on Instagram, since he was working on a new interface indicating that this content had been generated with this technology.

Specifically, the company would have established a screen in which it was mentioned that either the company itself or the content creator had identified certain content as created or edited by this tool.
