March in Puebla against animal abuse

PUEBLA, Pue. (proceso.com.mx).–Activists and organizations for animal rights marched this Sunday through the streets of Puebla to demand that the authorities put a stop to animal abuse, of which serious cases have been reported in recent days.

With posters and slogans, the protesters demanded to apply a punishment against adolescents who have attacked animals in Huauchinango and Atlixco.

In the case of Huachinango, it is a young woman named Vanessa who adopted a puppy named Huellitas, only to torture and kill it.

In Atlixco, the rape of a dog by a child under 12 years of age was reported.

The activists demanded that even if those who committed these acts of animal abuse are minors, they be punished to prevent their repetition.

In addition, with slogans they asked for action against pet owners who, even with the extremely hot weather that is being recorded, keep the animals on the rooftops.

They also asked to rescue more than 100 dogs that are in the municipal dump and that the Eduardo Rivera City Council intended to sacrifice.
