Yesterday we were able to tell you, pleasantly enough, that there will be a fifth Toy Story film, something Disney announced during its latest quarterly report, although otherwise there was a complete lack of details. Given that the series felt pretty complete already after part three and definitely after part four, there were many who thought about whether there would be reshuffles in the character gallery this time.
Besides, Chris Evans played Buzz Lightyear in last year’s spinoff film which was briefly called just Lightyear, so the question was whether he would change with. But now we’ve got a little premonition regarding the fate of old Buzz. Namely, the character appears to return in Toy Story 5 although Woody may not appear, and he also seems to regain his original voice; Tim Allen. And the source of that is… Tim Allen.
Via Twitter, Allen posted a post that can be interpreted as actually saying thank you and goodbye to Woody, but that Buzz Lightyear is returning in good old form. Something to look forward to, perhaps?
