The internet is buzzing after artist Chloe Bailey (24) announced her upcoming song with RnB star Chris Brown (33).

On Thursday, the artist hinted at the collaboration in a Twitter message.

This caused fans to rage, namely because of Brown’s previous history with Rihanna (34).

Serious violence against ex-girlfriend

In 2009, Brown was convicted of aggravated assault against his then-girlfriend, Rihanna.

The assault happened after an argument between the ex-couple.

Photos of a bruised Rihanna, with wounds and marks on her face were shortly afterwards leaked to the press.

Brown was subsequently arrested and eventually charged with aggravated assault. The exes went to court in mid-2009, where Brown pleaded guilty to the charges.

He was sentenced to five years’ probation, as well as community service. Rihanna also applied for a restraining order after the assault.

– I’m so fed up

Fans of both Bailey and Rihanna react to the recent collaboration.

– Chloe Bailey is going to make a song with Chris Brown – it’s like she won’t be successful, writes a Twitter user.

– It’s 2023. I can’t believe that women are still collaborating with Chris Brown, writes another.

After a series of negative comments, Brown himself took the magazine out of his mouth and shared several messages on Instagram.

In the messages, the RnB star writes that he is tired of talking about the violent incident.

– If you still hate me for a mistake I made as a 17-year-old, please kiss my ass.

– I am 33 years old. I am so tired of you running this narrative, he writes and hints at the abuse.

“Cancel culture”

In the tirade, the RnB star hints that white celebrities escape the so-called “cancel culture”.

– Where is the cancellation of white artists who date underage girls and who beat their wives, he writes.

Brown then shares photos of Mel Gibson, Charlie Sheen and Ozzy Osbourne, among others.

– No more fake love from me. Stay away or get run over, it’s that simple, he concludes.
