Marcel Tisserand’s path could have led back to the Bundesliga in the summer. In conversation with FT says the ex-Wolfsburger: “Yes, there were opportunities in France and Germany. I also had a little something in Turkey. But I work by feel and on a human level.” Ultimately, the 30-year-old Frenchman opted for a transfer to Al Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia. Tisserand sees his time in Germany (including FC Ingolstadt) positively.
“It was a very good experience in Germany”continues the central defender, “Even before I went there, I really liked the league because of the speed and strict game ideas. I wanted to play in an attractive league like the Bundesliga.” Last weekend he was able to compete with Cristiano Ronaldo in a direct duel (0:1 against Al Nassr). A special experience for Tisserand: “The arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo has given the championship a boost. Everyone has talked about him. We had the opportunity to face him in his first official game. That was a great opportunity and a great match for us.”
