The actor Jansen Panettiere (28), known among other things from the children’s films The Last Day of Summer and The Perfect Game, has died, the website reports TMZ.

The 28-year-old is the younger brother of Heroes actor Hayden Panettiere (33).

According to TMZ, the cause of death is currently unknown. The death is said to have occurred in New York at the weekend.

Panettiere was just five years old when he started his career in the early 2000s. He worked on projects such as “Even Stevens,” “Robots” and “Ice Age: The Meltdown,” and also had a recurring role as Truman X on Nickelodeon’s “The X’s.”

The Panettiere siblings starred opposite each other in two films during their careers – the 2004 Disney film ‘Tiger Cruise’ and the 2005 Warner Bros film ‘Racing Stripes’.

In 2008 he was nominated for a Young Artist Award for his role in “The Last Day of Summer”.

The 28-year-old has also worked with TV series such as “Major Crimes” and “The Walking Dead”. At the time of his death, he was linked to four ongoing projects, writes TMZ.

Older sister Hayden has not yet commented on the death.
