A 61-year-old man was arrested this afternoon in Salto Encantado, accused of threatening a neighbor with a firearm and shooting his dog, causing injuries to his muzzle.

Police sources indicated that the attacker’s home, located in Colonia Carril, was raided, where three firearms were seized, in addition to several cartridges of different calibers.

The event occurred last Sunday, when the dog’s owner reported to the local police station that his neighbor threatened to shoot him after having an argument, and that around 8:00 p.m. he heard some noise. Instantly his pet arrived with a wound on its snout. When he took the animal to the vet, the vet told him that the injuries were presumably compatible with a firearm projectile.

After the complaint, the Police began surveys in the area and collected testimonies of interest to the cause. They also detected a pellet embedded in the animal’s collar.

All the elements were brought to the attention of the Investigating Court One of Oberá, from where the search of the suspect’s property was ordered.

Thus, around 1:00 p.m. this Thursday, members of the local police station showed up at the home, arrested the defendant and seized two 16 and 28 gauge shotguns, a 22 gauge revolver and eleven cartridges, the spokespersons detailed.

The man was notified of a cause for the illegal possession of firearms, in addition to the others for threats and animal abuse. Finally, he was lodged at the Salto Encantado police station at the disposal of Justice.
