The President of the Russian Federation spoke on the occasion of the transition to the new year. A speech that comes more than ten months after the start of the war in Ukraine.

“We are going to make our country great and independent.” Vladimir Putin gave a martial speech on the occasion of the transition to the new year in Russia and in the midst of the war in Ukraine.

Standing alongside soldiers who fought in Ukraine and whom he had just decorated in an army headquarters in southern Russia, the Russian president hailed these “heroes” who “are fighting for their native land”.

“Together we will overcome all obstacles (…) and we will win,” said the President of the Russian Federation.

2022, a “year of turning points”

Vladimir Putin, who spoke of a “year of turning points” also assured that “moral and historical correctness” was “on the side” of his country.

“That is what we are fighting for today, protecting our people in our own historical territories, in the new constituent entities of Russia,” he said.
