After the opening of the Djanet region and the establishment of a simplified visa, Saharan tourism is progressing slowly. Indeed, on several occasions, Algeria has been qualified as an authentic, mysterious tourist destination which arouses curiosity from the outside point of view.

Despite the fact that it does not have the necessary infrastructure to accommodate a mass tourist, Algeria has tourism potential, which appeals to travelers who are looking for novelty and unusual destinations.

As a reminder, the prestigious magazine, the New York Times, has included Tassili n’Ajjer in its list of 52 destinations to visit in 2023. Indeed, this daily newspaper looks back on the beauty of this region, but also on the various measures taken by the Algerian government to promote Saharan tourism.

After the Argentinian tourists who reached the Sahara in a Citroën 2CV, the Belgian who realized his childhood dream in Timimoune, it is the turn of the Qataris to land in the Sahara and enjoy the beautiful landscapes offered by the Algerian desert.

Indeed, on his Instagram account, Sheikh Joaane Bin Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani posted images of a few moments shared with his father Hamad Bin Khalifa and his brother Jassim. These Qataris take advantage of a moment with family and in the presence of their friends, in a typically Saharan “kaada”.

As a reminder, many tourists from different nationalities were amazed at the beauty of the landscapes in Algeria, but also to note the friendliness of the Algerian citizens who welcome every tourist and traveler with open arms.
