street sales in progress in the City, according to Felp / el dia

With increasing numbers in the surveys of entities at the local and national level, informal sales, both in its street and virtual format, pose a bleak scenario for those who act according to what is established by the norms at the local, provincial and national levels. This is indicated by the diagnosis that the La Plata Business Federation released in the last hours, under a title that defines the picture: “Commerce no longer supports illegal competition.”

In an official statement released yesterday, the entity states that “the Business Federation of La Plata once again raises its voice in defense of legally constituted commerce, jeopardized by different irregular practices that are increasingly widespread, tolerated, in view of the community and the corresponding authorities.

It is, according to what is maintained, “a historical claim of the FELP over two decades, before authorities of different jurisdictions and political signs, always with the same unfortunate result, regardless of the regulations and laws in force.”

Along with the claims for the lack of daily action that limits this informal modality from that and other entities, the authorization of spaces in the City squares where all kinds of products are sold were also questioned.

“Insecurity, irregular work, without tax, labor or bromatological controls (which are done in registered commerce); openly advertised on social networks that seem not to be taken into account by the authorities, a State that is often absent from police, municipal and government inspections in the capital of the province of Buenos Aires”, the Federation pointed out.

In this line, it is argued that this form of activity has “the streets and shopping centers saturated with illegal vendors on their sidewalks, central squares increasingly occupied by stands selling irregular sales of new and used products.” The situation can be seen daily in the main streets of the City’s commercial activity, such as Calle 8, Calle 12, Diagonal 80, the area of the train station and Avenida 7, among other points.

The irregularities, according to the FELP statement, extend beyond the regulations that regulate retail trade in the City, until entering the field of crime. “Businessmen and customers who denounce violence and mistreatment, apocryphal brands, merchandise of unknown origins, constitute serious threats to peaceful coexistence and the normal development of community activities,” denounces the business entity.

Finally, the FELP insists on official inaction: “We once again send our claims to the corresponding municipal, provincial and security authorities, with the hope of being able to join the recovery tasks of the sector, as severely affected as the entire economy in general. ”.
