A driver in Bochum overlooked and hit a pedestrian when turning on Friday evening. The 20-year-old was seriously injured.
A young woman was hit by a car while crossing Universitätsstraße in Bochum on Friday evening and was seriously injured. As the police reported, the 20-year-old walked across Unistrasse towards Brenscheder Strasse at around 8:40 p.m. when the traffic light was green. A driver who wanted to turn left from Am Langen Seil onto Unistrasse in the direction of Markstrasse hit the woman.
Unistraße: drivers overlooked pedestrians when turning
The 28-year-old from Bochum reported to the police that he had overlooked the pedestrian. The 20-year-old was seriously injured and was taken to hospital by ambulance for inpatient treatment.
Universitätsstraße remained closed in the area of the accident site while the accident was being recorded. The traffic police are now investigating how the accident happened. (red)
