A landslide of ice and stones killed a tourist on Tuesday and left another injured in El Bolsón, Río Negro.

The tragedy occurred while the travelers were walking the path of the Hielo Azul hill, in an area close to the caves of the Hielo Azul Glacier.

When a group of tourists were trekking, an avalanche occurred that caused the death of a 38-year-old tourist and left another of the same age injured with multiple injuries.

The unfortunate episode surprised the tourists, who were quickly assisted by the tour guide.

The Fire Chief, Alejandro Namor, explained that the injured person is 38 years old and is from Caleta Olivia.

In addition, he recounted: “Two flights were carried out to take a doctor and the police to verify the death in the caves. Now, more personnel have moved to the place to assess whether it is necessary to evacuate more people.

The injured person was immediately transported and is out of danger.
