This is news that will delight all NBA fans, idle by the end of the season, completed last night in the United States. There will still be basketball this summer, with season 2 of Winning Time south HBO !
We will find the Lakers of Pat Riley on the rise in the early 1980s. After winning his first title, Magic Johnson seeks to build a Dynasty, but he has a choice rival on the other side of the country: Larry Bird !
This seven-episode second season will explore the rivalry between the “Purple & Gold” and the Boston Celtics. Because in the wake of their victory in 1980, the Lakers will come back down to earth. Season 2 will span three years, until 1984, the date of the first historic opposition between the two clubs in the NBA Finals (two more will follow in 1985 and 1987).
In the casting, we will find John C. Reilly a Jerry Buss, Quincy Isaiah en Magic Johnson, Adrien Brody in Pat Riley, Jason Clarke in Jerry West.
Season 2 of Winning Time is scheduled for Sunday August 6 on HBO and in France on Prime Video with the Warner pass.
