The area of ​​low pressures that moved through the central Atlantic, west-northwest of the Cape Verde Islands, continued to gain organization until it developed a well-defined center of circulation, which is why it became Tropical Storm Emily.

Its maximum sustained winds are up to 85 kilometers per hour, with higher gusts and a central pressure of 1,001 hectoPascal.

At 11:00 am Emily’s center was located at 19.5 degrees north latitude and 38.8 degrees west longitude, a position that places it about 1,615 kilometers west northwest of the Cape Verde Islands.

It is estimated that in the next 12 to 24 hours it will continue on a similar course, experiencing very little change in its organization and intensity.

This system does not represent a danger for Cuba but it is of interest for navigation.
