At around 5 a.m., the state control center received an emergency call about a traffic accident on the Rheintal autobahn (A14) at the Bregenz autobahn exit. When the emergency services arrived, they saw the devastation.
Heavy damage to both trucks and crash barriers
A truck had hit the guardrail directly at the Bregenz exit, probably for reasons that have not yet been clarified. This caused considerable damage to the construct.

When emergency services arrived, the damaged vehicle was still parked in the middle of the road. Several 100 liters of diesel escaped from the demolished truck and ran onto the street.
