Trump campaign says Biden is unfit for the White House

“Make no mistake: Democrats, the mainstream media and the swamp have colluded to hide the truth from the American public: Joe Biden is weak, failed, dishonest and unfit for the White House,” campaign co-chairs Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles said in a statement.

They also claim that everyone who was ever a supporter of Biden and his “failed policies” — which lead “to extreme inflation, open borders, and chaos at home and abroad” — “has lied” about his cognitive state, especially Vice President Kamala Harris.

In recent weeks, there have been more obvious episodes in which Biden has been seen disoriented or with motor problems at official events. In addition, his bad night in the electoral debate last Thursday has fueled rumors about a possible withdrawal from the presidential race, something that the White House has categorically denied.

Some Democratic congressmen, such as Texan Lloyd Doggett, have asked Biden to reconsider his candidacy. Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, 84, a long-time leader of the Democratic Party, has also acknowledged that it is “legitimate” to question the president’s state of health.

Harris in full political balance

Vice President Kamala Harris, who is running mate for a weakened Joe Biden in November and a possible candidate if the Democrat drops out of the race, has been doing political balancing acts for days.

“The Democratic nominee in 2024 must be Kamala Harris,” writes former Democrat Tim Ryan in an article in Newsweek.

But Biden has yet to make a move.

“Joe Biden is our candidate, we beat Donald Trump once and we’re going to beat him again,” she told CBS News on Tuesday, saying she was “proud” to campaign alongside the US president.

Following Joe Biden’s disastrous debate against Donald Trump on Thursday, the 59-year-old Democrat immediately came to his defence, claiming the US president had got off to a “slow start” but had “finished strong”.

Probe

On Tuesday, a poll released by the pro-Democratic CNN channel showed her in a better position than Joe Biden, but not ahead of Republican Donald Trump. She obtained 45% of voting intentions compared to 47% for the former Republican president.

President Biden would only get 43% compared to his predecessor’s 49%, the same percentage as in another poll published this Wednesday by the New York Times/Siena College.

If Joe Biden decides to withdraw, the vice president would play an important role during the Democratic convention in Chicago in August.

In this hypothesis, which is still very much up in the air, it would probably not be the only option.

The vice president is already “very much on the Republican Party’s radar,” according to Ange-Marie Hancock.

The 78-year-old billionaire on Wednesday again released a video montage of Joe Biden’s lapses and moments of confusion, which casts doubt on his ability to spend “four more years” in the White House.

It concludes with the question, “And you know who’s waiting behind him, right?”, with images of a laughing Kamala Harris in the background.
