Those targeted by Trump’s action, which refers to data protection, are Orbis Business Intelligence and its founder Christopher Steele, who headed MI6’s Russia office, according to Agerpres.

A first hearing in the case is scheduled for October 16.

No other details about the case have been released. Most likely, Trump will not appear at the hearing.

Steele is the author of the so-called Steele dossier, which included allegations that Trump was “compromised” by the Russian FSB security service, as well as that Vladimir Putin “supported and led” an operation aimed at helping Trump’s presidential candidacy – allegations rejected by the former White House leader.

Steele and his company were also sued for defamation by Russian businessman Aleksei Gubarev in connection with the publication of the dossier, which was “leaked” to the BuzzFeed media portal in 2017. However, British judge Mark Warby rejected this action in October 2020 .
