Trump: National Guard of Mexico is like Pancho Villa, "politically incorrect"

MEXICO CITY (apro).- Donald Trump compared the National Guard of Mexico with the revolutionary leader Pancho Villa, considering that both do not behave with the “political correctness” that the US armed forces should maintain.

“Our soldiers have to be politically correct; If one of our soldiers speaks to a person a little rudely, they put him in a dungeon for the rest of his life,” the New York magnate said Tuesday.

The former US president raised the above during a campaign event in Windham, New Hampshire, in search of his re-election, in a speech addressed to war veterans of his country.

In his speech, Trump boasted that the most secure border in the history of the United States was created during his government and highlighted that almost 500 miles of wall were built.

In this context, he asked: “Do you remember when they said that Mexico did not pay for the construction of the border wall?”, alluding to the promise of his first presidential campaign.

And he himself replied: “we got Mexico to give us 28 thousand soldiers free of taxes; Mexico gave us 28,000 free soldiers. That’s a lot more than a little money for the wall and a lot less complicated.”

Trump stated that in a conversation with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador he told him: “there are many people crossing from Mexico, the cartels are bringing very bad people, you have to give us soldiers,” to which López Obrador would have responded with “no, no, I won’t do that”, asking him how many soldiers he needed.

“28 thousand” was what Trump said he asked for, “it’s a lot of soldiers, Pancho Villa, you know? With the bullets crossing the chest, ”said the Republican while he simulated with his arms the cartridge belts carried by the revolutionary leader.

“Like Pancho Villa, these Mexican soldiers are also not politically correct. Ours have to be politically correct. If a soldier of ours talks to a person a little rude, they put him in a brig for the rest of his life,” Trump said.

Trump alluded to the 28,463 military elements that participated in the Migration and Development Plan on the southern border, applied by the Mexican government after the New York magnate’s government threatened in 2019 to impose tariffs on Mexican imports.
