NY.- Former US President Donald Trump has raised more than $34 million since the start of the year for his 2024 presidential campaign, fueled by a surge in donations since the announcement of criminal charges against him in New York, according to his campaign. Trump’s most recent fundraising report due Saturday to the Federal Election Commission (FEC) will show that he raised more than $18.8 million between his main campaign account and an account joint fundraising for the first three months of the year, according to the campaign.
Of that total for the period from January 1 to March 31, $4 million came in after Trump was indicted on March 30 by a grand jury in Manhattan on charges related to a hush-up payment case that stemmed from the election. of 2016.

Trump began raising money on the news of his indictment, and his campaign said he received $15.4 million since the announcement of the charges and the Saturday deadline to submit the fundraising report.
Trump, who is also facing several other criminal investigations, has tried to use his legal troubles to incite supporters, saying all the cases are politically motivated. He has described the New York charges as “election interference” but has also hinted that they may help him win support.
Trump has dominated the early phases of the GOP race for the 2024 presidency. But by now, many strong GOP donors have looked at supporting elsewhere. Until his indictment, his campaign fundraising was well below the amounts he raised in days or hours when he was president.
