The planned topics:

Danger for our democracy – are new civil wars looming?

Western democracies have never been as endangered as they are today – says the American political scientist Barbara S. Walter in her new book “Civil Wars. Why More and More States Are on the Precipice”. The authority of the state is undermined, and violence is increasingly accepted as a means of achieving political goals. This is not only shown by the recent events after the presidential election in Brazil. In the United States, a Republican politician has apparently ordered armed attacks on Democrats, and the investigations into the “Reichsbürger” in Germany are also making people sit up and take notice. “ttt” asks the proven expert on violent conflicts: How much are the Western democracies on the brink – and what needs to be done?

Daniel Richter – A documentary about the painter star

Daniel Richter, one of the most important contemporary painters – portrayed by Pepe Danquart, the director who won the Oscar in 1994 for his short film “Schwarzfahrer”. The expectations of an artist portrait are high. For three years, Pepe Danquart accompanied ex-punk Daniel Richter, whose works are now sold for millions on the art market, for his documentary film. It shows him painting, doing yoga, with artist friends like Jonathan Meese, negotiating with gallery owners, gala dinners in Paris and exhibition openings in New York. Richter is convinced: a top film (theatrical release: February 2, 2023). Danquart says he became incredibly close to the artist. “ttt” look what’s up.

Profound Story of a Boys Friendship – The Movie Masterpiece “CLOSE”

“CLOSE” is a tale of friendship and rejection, love and loss, beautifully performed by two near-teen actors. The young Belgian filmmaker Lukas Dhont has already won the Grand Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival for his sensitive drama. “CLOSE” is now in the Oscar race for Belgium. A stirring, beautiful and tender film that shows the fragility of life on the threshold of adulthood in many close-ups (theatrical release January 26).

Musical summiteer – the trumpeter Nils Wülker

As a hobby climber he climbs the peaks of four thousand meters, as a musician he searches for new ways for jazz. Nils Wülker always wants to overcome borders. Sometimes he works with hip-hop musicians, like rapper Marteria. Sometimes he plays with classical orchestras. For his new album “Closer” he has teamed up with guitarist Arne Jensen, with whom he has played a duet for years. In addition to music, Wülker is an enthusiastic mountaineer and even leads tours for the Alpine Club. “ttt” meets the musician in the mountains – of course with a trumpet.

Multimedia Art – The fascinating work of Johanna Keimeyer

Photos, videos, installations – artist Johanna Keimeyer works in different media and with different roles. She calls herself an “experiential artist” and wants to make new experiences possible with her work or make the otherwise invisible visible. One of her greatest works was a walk-in installation, the “Breathing Heart”, a huge heart in which one can experience the body in a completely new way. In her series “Iconic Portraits” she questions roles and images. She presents herself as Warhol, Einstein or Johanna von Orleans and edits the photos digitally. For the “Inspired” series (in the ARD media library), Johanna Keimeyer dealt with Caspar David Friedrich. “ttt” portrays the artist from Berlin.
