According to the report published by the General Directorate of Civil Protection (DGPC) during the morning of today, Wednesday, February 8, in Turkey the elements of the Algerian civil protection succeeded in rescuing and extracting 5 individuals alive. trapped under the rubble, in Adiyaman, unfortunately 14 people came out dead.

While in Syria, the elements of the Algerian civil protection managed to rescue and get out only 1 individual alive trapped under the rubble, in Adiyaman, unfortunately 6 people were taken out dead. And this still according to a press release from the DGPC.

What is the provisional assessment of the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria?

The toll of victims of the powerful earthquakes, which hit several parts of Turkey and Syria on Monday, has increased to more than 11,200 deaths, and more than 26,000 injured according to figures given by the authorities and rescuers.

The death toll in Turkey has reached 8,574, announced Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who visited the city of Kahramanmaras, epicenter of the earthquake, while in Syria 2,662 bodies were removed from rubble.

As a reminder, a powerful earthquake of magnitude 7.8 hit southeastern Turkey and the northern provinces of Syria on Monday morning. The earthquake was followed by strong aftershocks.
