She doesn’t feel like dieting anymore – that’s wonderfully normal!

TV star Elena Uhlig (47) declares war on the obsession with losing weight.

The actress to BILD: “I like to eat and not necessarily healthy. I don’t do much sport either. And I don’t feel like going on any diets anymore.”

From autumn, actress Elena Uhlig can be seen with Friedrich von Thun (80) in the ARD series “Room with stable”.

Because: “My body has now found its ideal weight because I’ve stopped struggling with it.” That is important for your well-being with a size 46. “If you stop thinking about your weight all the time, you eat quite normally.”

She is consistent. “I threw my scale away now.”

The problem: Uhlig rarely finds the right fashion for itself. “It’s relatively easy for very slim women with small breasts and buttocks to create fashion. They’re like dolls that you can just dress up. But we adult women have different sizes after a certain moment, our bodies change.”

For them there is often nothing nice to wear, says the actress. “The sleeves, for example, are often longer. Just because a lot of people think alleged waving arms have to be covered up.” That’s why Uhlig – in cooperation with the sustainable fashion label Elements Clemente – now makes “wearable, sustainable feel-good clothes” itself.

She has done away with the conventional dress sizes, subdividing them into “female”, “indescribably female” and “mega female”.

Because: “It doesn’t matter what size is on the inside. I no longer want to submit to the dictates of fashion.”

And so the jogging suit she designed is called “Spazier” for example.

Elena Uhlig: “How much do we have in the closet and what do we always wear in the end? There are always a few favorite pieces that you wear all the time - and I'm sure the stroller will be one of them.

“Since I don’t jog, it’s a walk. It is suitable for walking the dog, for getting bread rolls, for traveling and for lounging on the couch at home. You can’t even go jogging with them because your legs are too wide,” explains the actress.

That her dream of making fashion herself came true Elena Uhlig thanks to a coincidence. “The daughter of Clemens Dörr, the owner of ‘Elemente Clemente’, and my youngest are in kindergarten together. The two became friends, so we parents met on the playground and started talking. Herr Karl (Elena Uhlig’s life partner, editor’s note) said: ‘Uhlig, you always want to do fashion, work together,'” reveals the actress.

And so the idea was born. She: “It was clear from the start that he would only make sustainable fashion – organic cotton, linen and upcycling. He has his own factory and therefore the machinery. Without the clothes being produced at ‘Elemente Clemente’, it wouldn’t work.”

Now the actress may no longer have scales, but she does have her own collection.
