O Twitter leader Elon Musk announced through his personal page on the social network that platform users can now send private messages with encryption. This capacity should be available from this Wednesday, the 10th, for all users.

In addition to this novelty, Musk also said that the ability to make voice and video calls directly through Twitter will soon become available. “Voice and video conversations will be coming soon from your ‘handle’ to anyone on this platform, so you can talk to people from anywhere in the world without giving them your phone number”can be read in the ‘tweet’ of the businessman.

Note that these new features will help Twitter become a more fearsome rival for apps owned by Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta, namely WhatsApp and Messenger. Elon Musk seems, moreover, interested in pursuing this rivalry since he recently stated that “We cannot trust WhatsApp”.
