The short message service has some of its loudest critics for free those blue tick to verify their profile, which have recently become chargeable. Criticism of Twitter Blue has grown louder in recent weeks. A profile named @BlockTheBlue has started the trend of even blocking verified Twitter users. After the profile was blocked by Twitter, the campaign went under the hashtag #BlockTheBlueChecks further.
Free for celebrities too
Celebrities have also stood out as Twitter Blue critics, for example Lebron James, Stephen King oder William Shatner. Twitter then also gave them free ticks, Elon Musk presented this step as a kind of gift. The Twitter CEO, on the other hand, did not comment on the current “spite checkmarks”.
