“Twitter is enforcing its longstanding API rules. This can lead to some apps not working.” – this should explain why third-party apps no longer work with the actual Twitter service and are therefore currently obsolete. This fact has already been confirmed, but a statement on the reasons has not yet been given. And to be honest, I also think the above statement is just one really tired justification, which does not clarify anything at first. It is not clear which rules and guidelines developers are said to have violated, nor how they might be able to make their apps usable again. Many developers of well-known apps such as Twitterific or, above all, Tweetbot went on the barricades, at least on the part of the latter, energy is currently being put into the development of the iOS and macOS app Ivory for the Fediverse platform Mastodon.
