“A ANI’s Twitter account now appears to be up and running. We regret the inconvenience caused by the temporary interruption”, revealed today the Indian news agency, which has 7.6 million followers.

“Some people will be very sad,” said the agency’s editor, Smita Prakash, on the same social network and now quoted by the Spanish news agency EFE.

Both accounts reappeared on the platform today, after the social network’s search engine showed the message “sorry, this account does not exist” on Saturday.

In an explanation sent by Twitter to ANI’s main account, the social network said that “to create a Twitter account you must be at least 13 years old” and, according to Elon Musk’s platform, the Indian agency did not meet this requirement. .

This information was revealed by Prakash who reposted the text on Twitter.

Twitter’s chief executive recently said India’s stringent social media laws could put its employees at risk of jail time.

Elon Musk’s statements were made during an interview with the BBC about the limitations of defending freedom of expression and content censorship in India.
