In the last few hours, two men were held up as protagonists and suspects in the same maneuver, although with different interests: they reported the theft of their vehicles but it is believed that they were never actually stolen.

According to information revealed by police sources, the alleged false complaints were made in the towns of Comandante Andresito and Puerto Rico.

With what objectives? In one of the cases it was apparently to “recover” a truck after a bad deal and the other would have been to collect the insurance money. They were discovered at the request of the investigations generated from the events that the alleged victims described at the police headquarters. Both are facing criminal charges.

The assault in Andresito

In the town of Comandante Andresito, Fabio B. (39), denounced last Wednesday that on the afternoon of the previous day (Tuesday) and in full traffic, he was assaulted by two criminals who approached him with firearms and under threat of death They fled the scene with their Nissan Frontier 4×2 pickup.

She narrated that she was driving along Route 101 (San Antonio – Andresito direction) with her 11-month-old daughter and at the height of Paraje Deseado she had to stop the march to accommodate the child’s seat. In this context, he was crossed by criminals who were moving in a Fiat Siena and after targeting them, they stole his vehicle, staying with the little girl in the middle of the road until he was able to return to San Antonio.

The seriousness of the event motivated the police investigation but the evidence pointed to the complainant himself. It ended up discovering that it was a maneuver that sought to justify a recent bad deal.

According to the Police, he had exchanged his truck for a car (Volkswagen Fox) that had apocryphal documentation and with the intention of recovering it, he would have invented the assault.

The head of the Investigating Court 3 of Puerto Iguazú, Martín Brites, ordered that Fabio be delayed and notified of the investigation of the case that has him as a defendant.

Robbery in Puerto Rico

The other case, according to police sources, was reported as having occurred in the town of Puerto Rico, although the alleged victim, Hugo C. (41), is a native of Dos de Mayo.

He appeared at the Second police station warning about the theft of his Renault Kangoo, which he had supposedly left parked on Asunción street (almost Córdoba) but upon returning he found that it was not there, alluding that unknown persons had stolen it.

According to the hypothesis that he offered and the time that the event supposedly occurred, the investigators of the IV Regional Unit “examined the 911 cameras, noting serious discrepancies with what was expressed by the man, since at the stated time there were no strange movements or some kind of illegal.”

On the other hand, based on a series of inquiries carried out with residents of the town where he resides, the uniformed officers obtained information that would suggest that “the complainant, since December of last year, would no longer have the vehicle in his possession” and that he would dedicate “to the sale of auto parts, so it is not ruled out that the fraudulent maneuver would have been carried out to collect the insurance money for theft,” the provincial force reported.

In this case, the Court of Instruction 1 of Puerto Rico intervened, from where it was ordered that the person involved be notified of the cause for the crime of false denunciation. His cell phone was kidnapped for expert purposes.
