This Tuesday, the former Undersecretary of Works, Manuel MC, and the Head of Urban Infrastructure and Construction Resident, Alejandro CCA, both from the Secretariat of Infrastructure and Sustainable Territorial Planning (Sinfra), were arrested. However, the arrests have focused on minor officials.
The prosecutor’s office reported that, based on the investigations carried out in the area of Combating Corruption, it executed the aforementioned arrest warrant against Manuel MC, and Alejandro CCA on Tuesday the 13th.
The agency explained that one was arrested in the Reforma neighborhood of this capital and another in the suburban municipality of Santa Cruz Xoxocotlán, both accused of the crime of illegal use of powers and powers to the detriment of the state government’s assets.
According to criminal case 565/2023, obtained from the investigations of the Oaxaca State Specialized Prosecutor’s Office to Combat Corruption (FEMCO), undue payments were made derived from the abstention from complying with different clauses established in the contract. of a work by not verifying documentation in this regard.
Said work is registered in Program 108 of Road Infrastructure of the State of Oaxaca, of the Project “Expansion and modernization of Trunk Highway 175 (Oaxaca-Puerto Ángel) from Km 1+000 to km 5+300 at the level junction with Av. University at km 2+300 and Construction of the Bridge over Río Salado at km 2+977.14, in the municipalities of Oaxaca de Juárez, Santa Cruz Xoxocotlán, San Antonio de la Cal and San Agustín de las Juntas”.
After obtaining the arrest warrant, elements of the State Investigation Agency (AEI) carried out simultaneous operations that allowed the whereabouts of the former public servants to be found, in order to execute the judicial mandate, for which both were made available to the authorities. authorities, who will be in charge of resolving their legal situation in the next few hours.
