– The extent of the injuries is a bit unclear, but it is a matter of life-threatening violence in one case, says police spokesperson Mats Öhman.
The police were alerted at 01.09 to an address in Avesta where an injured man aged 45 was found. He is said to have been hit in the head with a stick outdoors and was taken to hospital by ambulance.
Investigation led the police to a residence where a 35-year-old man could be arrested just before 02:00.
Another man injured
A little later, the police became aware of another injured man who himself should have sought medical care. He reportedly had more serious injuries than the first man. The police were later able to connect the two incidents.
– Right now it is an investigation into attempted murder, if it is later regarded as assault in one case, the investigation will have to show, says Mats Öhman.
