After it was confirmed that April and June there will be two increases staggered in the bills of users of electricity in the Metropolitan Area of ​​Buenos Aires (Amba), which for most households will not exceed $400, the Government reported that during this year there will be no adjustments two sectors of the population.

This was stated by the Secretary of Energy, Flavia Royónwho said that in this there will be no increases in electricity for low-income segments or for small businesses with a power of up to 10 kilowatt hours (kwh).

The official specified that for these cases of small businesses there will be a subsidized block of energy up to 800 kWh per month. “This is a policy of continuing to care for those who need assistance from the State, following the accompaniment that the National State has been having with the rates,” the secretary told the state agency Télam.

Instead, he pointed out that “For those high segments and those who did not request the subsidy, the increase will be 36% of the cost of energy”but pointed out that “the subsidies are still maintained.”

“There has not been a total removal of subsidies because we still have 33% of users who are between the high-income segment and those who did not request the subsidy, and we understand that within that 33% there are families that need the State accompaniment and that for various reasons they have not been able to request it,” Royon explained.

On Monday, the Secretary of Energy announced that in April and June there will be two staggered increases in the bills of electric power users in the AMBA, which for most households will not exceed $400, and that in the first days of October will hold a new hearing to evaluate the companies’ rates and investments.

For low-income residential, the rate increase will not be greater than $360 per fee. Meanwhile, 72% of the users, almost 2.9 million, of the medium and low levels will receive a fee increase of up to $400 per month with respect to the added value of distribution.
