Two subjects were convicted of sexually assaulting the same victim, on different dates, places, and illegal acts; the defendants have been identified as José Valentín Cruz Benítez and Santos Froilán Benítez Martínez. The first was sentenced to 14 years in prison for the crime of rape of a minor and incapable, and the second, 8 years in prison for sexual assault on a minor and incapable.
The events occurred during the months of January and February of the year 2022, in a canton of the municipality of Sensuntepeque, department of Cabañas.
According to the investigations of the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR), both defendants took advantage of the trust that the family had in them to attack the minor, since they used the time alone with her to cause her harm.
The Sensuntepeque Trial Court validated all the evidence presented by the prosecutors in the case, who managed to demonstrate the criminal participation of each defendant in time and place. For which they were also sentenced to pay $500 in civil liability.
