Persistence seems to be the watchword of the year for the French studio, which now stubbornly continues to push NFTs despite the fact that players around the world have come to ratify the concept in unison. But shame on whoever gives in and Ubisoft has proudly shown what they chose to call smart collectiblessomething they seem to be planning to launch in the near future and which is connected to the Assassin’s Creed series.

The product, developed in collaboration with Integral Reality labs, is described as a bridge between the physical and digital worlds, a “digital soul” that the owner can freely adapt and make into a unique creation with a unique signature on the blockchain. Through an app, the owner can then interact with their NFT in various ways and also order a 3D printed version to place on their bookshelf.

How much all this will cost is unclear and the information on Integral Reality Lab’s website is sparse. In any case, one thing is certain and that is that Ubisoft does not seem to have learned its lesson after the Quartz failure, because just like in the case of Square Enix, Ubisoft continues to try to squeeze money out of its customers in extremely questionable ways.

Do you think these smart collectibles will do better than the Quartz venture?

“And here we go…”
