If there’s one thing that’s become clear over the years in Dead by Daylight, it’s that players who play completely alone have a much harder time surviving than those who band together with others. Now Behavior Interactive has decided to address this in the form of a new update that should make it clearer for survivors to keep track of what their teammates are up to. The developers will therefore implement something they call the Survivor Activity HUD.

With the new update, survivors will be able to see an icon alongside the survivor portrait. For example, if Meg repairs a generator and Claudette heals herself, an icon with a generator will appear next to Meg’s portrait, while Claudette will get an icon next to her portrait showing her patching herself up. It will also be possible to see who is being hunted at the moment and if someone is being carried by the killer. In other words, lone players will no longer have to guess what their teammates are doing and it will therefore be easier to know what to do next. Over the years, this has been a matter of course for four friends playing together, but for those playing on their own, it has led to many unnecessary deaths.

In addition to this implementation, which is by far the biggest news, the update will include a couple of other changes. These can be found below (including the Survivor Activity HUD):

– Survivor Activity HUD: See what your teammates are doing at any given time.
– In-game Challenge Tracker: Receive progress updates on your selected challenge.
– Improved Queuing: Browse the Archives and the store while you search for a match!
– Updated Wiggling: This feature is coming out of beta with a few changes.
– Balance changes for The Knight and The Nurse.
– Updates to the Eyrie of Crows map to improve gameplay.
– Tweaks to Killer match ratings, making it simpler to unlock Merciless Killer achievements.
