MADRID, 30 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Ukrainian Presidency announced this Sunday that it will begin negotiations with the United States in the coming days to agree on a bilateral agreement with security guarantees to guarantee Washington’s support until Kiev achieves NATO membership.

“Next week Ukraine will begin negotiations with the United States for a bilateral agreement on security guarantees in accordance with the Joint Declaration of Support for our country,” said the head of the Office of the Ukrainian Presidency, Andri Yermak, in an official statement. .

These guarantees “will be valid until Ukraine becomes a member of NATO,” Yermak explained at an event with regional and local authorities held in Ivano-Frankivsk.

This integration into NATO “is the most reliable guarantee of security, but as long as the war continues in our country we cannot join the Alliance, the Ukrainian state must get reliable guarantees for the transition period,” Yermak stressed.

kyiv thus aspires to forge a system of bilateral alliances through the Joint Declaration adopted by the leaders of the G-7 and Ukraine itself in Vilnius. “More than a dozen countries have already signed up to this Declaration and new states adhere every week”, he highlighted.

“Security guarantees for Ukraine will be concrete and long-term commitments that guarantee Ukraine’s ability to win now and deter any Russian aggression in the future. They will be clearly described formats and support mechanisms,” he explained.

On the other hand, Yermak has announced that Saudi Arabia will soon host the next meeting at the level of national security advisers and politicians of leaders of various countries for the implementation of the Ukrainian peace plan.

“The first meeting of this kind took place in Copenhagen in June. The next one will be soon. It will be in a Saudi city. We thank these two kingdoms for their leadership and strong support for Ukrainian initiatives,” Yermak said.

The process could culminate at the end of this year with a global summit with the presence of heads of state and government to address the Ukrainian Peace Formula.
