Since they arrived in the city of Dolores, the movements of the eight defendants for the crime of Fernando Baez Sosa they are timed. From Monday to Friday, between 7 and 8, they are transferred from Unit No. 6 to TOC No. 1 —located ten blocks away— with a rigorous security operation. At noon, they have lunch in the courts, in two cells located inside Unit No. 6. On Wednesdays they receive a visit from their relatives: today was the second.
Unlike the previous week, the eighth hearing of the debate ended after 2:15 p.m., with which the relatives of the accused did not have to rush to arrive on time for the 5:00 p.m. visit. When leaving the Palacio de los Tribunales, on Calle Belgrano 141, they no longer tried to hide behind the chinstrap. However, to enter the prison, they had to cover themselves with a mask per the SPB protocol. The same one that the detainees abide by and which is why they arrive at each hearing with a chinstrap and then remove it in the courtroom.
They arrived 16.45 under a Deluge. some used umbrella, other pilots either hoods. In his hands they carried bags of food and, just like last Wednesday, water drums. After dispatching all that through the window on the left, they then entered through the door on the right. From the sidewalk in front, television cameras and photographers from different media recorded their movements. As so far, no one made statements.
Ten days after the start of the trial, those who maintain perfect attendance at the hearings are Sergio ViolazAyrton’s dad; Mark Pertossi, the father of Lucas Pertossi; Y Monica Zaratemother of Matías Benicelli and aunt of Máximo Thomsen. The rest of the relatives were not present in the room because they are summoned as witnesses for next week. Such is Rosalía Zárate, the mother of Máximo Thomsen, Héctor Eduardo Benicelli, father of Matías Benicelli; Ana María Tartara, mother of Alejo Milanesi; María Alejandra Guillén, mother of Enzo Comelli; Erika Edith Pizzatti, mother of Ayrton Viollaz and Mauro Rubén Pertossi, father of Luciano and Ciro.
The Dolores prison, the oldest prison in the province, is not a novelty for the youth of Zárate. It was his first place of detention in January 2020after passing through cells of the Buenos Aires Police such as those of the 1st Police Station of Pinamar, before being assigned to Melchor Romero.
That time, the warden’s sector was reserved for them on the top floor of the prison between sectors 9 and 10, occupied by evangelical prisoners, with bunk beds and a shared toilet. Today, they occupy another sector of the prison.
To date, Luciano Pertossi, Ayrton Viollaz, Matías Benicelli, Blas Cinalli, Máximo Thomsen, Enzo Comelli, Ciro Pertossi and Lucas Pertossi They have already spent ten nights in the Dolores jailwhere they will continue to be detained, at least, until the end of the trial against them, scheduled for Wednesday, January 18, when it will be three years since the crime.
