Unitary Platform ratifies adherence to electoral route in Venezuela

CARACAS.- The Unitary Platform, a coalition that brings together the opposition majority, ratified on Wednesday, April 17, that it remains on the electoral path. The bloc described as “positive” the meetings that have been held after the search for agreements for a standard bearer by consensus to confront Nicolás Maduro in the presidential on Sunday, July 28.

This Wednesday, the alliance of parties received not only leaders and candidates for the upcoming elections, but also met with electoral advisors.

“In accordance with what was approved within the Unitary Platform, we held a positive meeting with Governor Manuel Rosales, who expressed his commitment to the electoral route, unity and change. In the unitary instance we continue to promote spaces for dialogue and consultation,” said the coalition through its account on the social network X.

Rosales, governor of the state of Zulia and presidential candidate for Un Nuevo Tiempo (UNT), said: “We are going to wait for the Unitary Platform to decide. We are going to support what the Unitary Platform decides. If they give me that flag, I will carry it with honor and I will remove (Nicolás) Maduro from the government and I will cause a great change in the country, we will work hard to make it happen and I will go calmly to Zulia.

The governor registered in March when there were just a few minutes left before the closing of applications for the elections and in the midst of the obstacles that the Unitary Platform had to register professor Corina Yoris to replace María Corina Machado.

For the change

The Unitary Platform also met with Enrique Márquez, former rector of the National Council Electoral(CNE) and candidate for the Centrados party. The opposition alliance indicated that Márquez transmitted to them his vision of the political moment that the country is experiencing. “We remain united to change Venezuela.”

According to the leader, the meeting with the alliance of parties “was very cordial, constructive”, and “loaded with ideas.”
