From the first tape of My favorite villain, the Minions became the favorites of children and adults (even your aunt who sends images of “good morning”). So much so that they have their own movies that are a hit at the box office. And if you have always wanted to be in the world of these characters, heen we have great news because Universal will open a new Minions area.
In recent years, Universal has been in charge of bringing the public closer to those characters they love so much. We already saw it with Super Nintendo World –both in Japan and in the United States–, the site dedicated to Super Mario Bros. But now, They are preparing something very special with the Minions and we are sure that they will love it.
Universal will open a Minions-themed area in Orlando… and we already want to be there
It turns out that this May 17, Universal Orlando Resort announced with great fanfare that very soon will open in the park Universal Studios Florida neither more nor less than Minion Land. It is a new thematic and immersive area, created so that all those who love the Minions can meet them and live incredible experiences.
It should be clarified that in said Universal park already exists Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, a very popular attraction that stars the characters from Despicable Me. However, this new area is completely focused on the Minions and the truth is that from how they describe it, it will surely be wonderful.
To give you an idea of how things will be, when they arrive at Minion Land at Universal Studios Florida, they’re greeted by Gru’s hilarious minions and from there, they’ll join an adventure filled with great experiences, delicious food, and great-sounding attractions. Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast
In this attraction, will put your villain skills to the test. For that, they will compete against each other in a fully interactive gaming experience.. When finished, they will have a chance to visit Evil Stuff, a brand new store where you can buy exclusive merchandise of the attraction and of course, of the Minions.
Illumination’s Minion Cafe
Of course Universal also has something for those of you who are fine-toothed, as they will open Illumination’s Minion Cafe, the main place to eat inside Minion Land. This new restaurant will feature three themed areas based on the most beloved Minions: Kevin, Stuart, Bob and Otto.
Here you will find the kitchenwhere visitors will see the kitchen equipment that these characters have; the rest room, so that they dine in the rest space of the fun minions; and dining rooma space adorned with colorful artwork courtesy of the Minions and more. There will also be an outdoor patio where you can also eat.
As if this weren’t enough, within the Minion Café menu you will see food that has appeared in My favorite villain y Minionsand others inspired by the films of both franchises. And best of all, the gastronomic offer will cover all tastes, as there will be vegan dishes, desserts, sandwiches and much more.
Bake My Day
Bake My Day will be a bread shop (in the shape of a huge pink cupcake that can be seen from anywhere in the area) that will offer a selection of Minions-themed sweet treats including cupcakes, macarons, s’mores and morealong with merchandise inspired by these great characters such as clothing, stuffed animals, glasses, accessories, key rings and whatever comes to mind.
Pop-A-Look
Something iconic of the Minions are bananas, and sweet and salty popcorn inspired by Gru’s minions’ love of bananas at this Minion Land spot. Besides, visitors will be able to buy dovecotes that will only be available in this area of Universal Studios Florida.
Freeze Ray Pops
It is known that in Universal Studios Florida the heat is tasty, that is why inside Minion Land they will open Freeze Ray Pops, a place that offers a variety of colorful lollipops inspired by Gru, the Minions and Vector, along with drinks to cool off while having fun.
Illumination Theater
Last but not least, we have the Illumination Theater, where visitors will be able to meet, greet and interact with the Minions and other beloved characters from My favorite villainlike Gru, Margo, Edith and Agnes.
